Reports To: Program Coordinators, Transitional Employment Program for the Youth Opportunity Initiative.

Job Description: The team leaders work as part of the YO team with all staff. The Project Team Leaders must be able to lead a group of youth in a community-based project focused on skill development. The Project Team Leader must be able to work effectively with YO staff, partnering agencies, law enforcement agencies and their staff, and youth and parents.

General Responsibilities:
1.Leads team of youth ages 14-24, in project-based activities.
2.Supervises youth participating in projects; designs and implements and adjusts project plan; documents project’s progress and challenges throughout the summer.
3.Facilitates the learning of all team members through deliberate daily workshops and activities to prepare members for the world of work and support their academic advancement.
4.Works with all YO staff to ensure safety and productivity of all youth participants.
5.Maintains and strengthens project partnerships.
6.Conducts daily assessments of youth engaged in projects; participates in case conferences as it relates to youth’s program involvement.
7.Keeps case notes and meets with other program staff regularly for continuous improvement of the program service delivery.
8.Ensures program measures are met and in compliance and in accordance with procurement policies and federal standards.
9. Other duties as assigned.



Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or working toward it or 2 years related work experience in youth development, education, workforce development or human services; strong organizational skills; team-building and group dynamic experience; strong communication and presentation skills; knowledge of communities of the Greater Boston area; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff, youth, and community based organizations.
