A position at IBA - Cacique Youth Learning Center

Learn while you earn a stipend for making a change in your community. Positions available in Leadership, Teaching/Program Assisting, Arts Programming, and others.

Hours: Part Time, seasonal, depending on the program

We are trying to have all positions filled as soon as possible.

Youth’s Commitment:
FALL PROGRAM/10 WEEKS: October 8 – December 15
WINTER PROGRAM/9 WEEKS: January 7 – March
SPRING PROGRAM/ 10 WEEKS: March 31 – May 30
SUMMER PROGRAM/ 6 WEEKS: July 7 – August 15

Positions available are as follows:

§ YOUTH EXPLORATION & LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (YEL): 7 VACANT POSITIONS Established in 2004: (Mondays – Fridays, 3:30-6pm) Youth will participate in a series of workshops with an emphasis on Health Education, Urban Stewardship, Digital Story Telling, Graphic Design and Outdoor Adventures.

§ TEACHER’S ASSISTANT PROGRAM (TAP): 2 VACANT POSITIONS
Established in 2004: (Mondays – Fridays, 3:30-6PM) Youth will be provided with the opportunity to give back to the community through work with children (5-12 years of age) who are enrolled in the Cacique After-School/Summer Program. Teacher’s Assistants help with homework, facilitate sports and arts activities (Latin Percussion, Technology, Visual Arts, and Theater Education), and serve as mentors and role models to the children they work with.

§ CACIQUE YOUTH ARTS PROGRAM (CAY): 5 VACANT POSITIONS
Established in 2005: (Mondays – Fridays, 3:30-6PM) Youth will participate in a series of workshops with an emphasis on Latin Percussion, Urban Fusion Dance, Creative Writing/Lyrics, Community Education, Visual Arts, and Theater.

§ CACIQUE YOUTH ADVOCACY PROGRAM: 1 VACANT POSITION created for a high-risk youth. Youth will participate in helping Cacique Youth Advocate with outreach and planning of activities (Teen Night, Arts, and Technology) during our extended after-school program hours (6-8 or 7-9pm)

§ CACIQUE PROGRAM ASSISTANT: 1 VACANT POSITION (the ideal person for this position would be a young person from Villa Victoria and/or connected with our community youth. This is seasonal/program cycle position-pending on funding)

 
NOTE: 8 of the Peer Leader positions are funded by Boston Youth Fund, which means only youth who worked this past Summer 2007 will be considered for one of these 8 positions.
