THe Teen Arts Council, launched in the summer of 2006, serves as an apprenticeship program for a diverse collective of teenagers whose goal is to connect the MFA with greater Boston's teens, families, and communities. Thoughout the year, TAC members have the opportunity to work on a variety of activities such as creating and producing a teen arts salon, working as arts assistants for family programs, and journaling their experience for publication on the MFA's website. They also attend workshops and training sessions designed to develop their creative and critical thinking skills.

The MFATAC is looking for teens (age 15–19) who:
* Mix it up: are interested in being challenged in the arts and the creative process.
* Want to know what’s up: are interested and curious in learning more about art, culture, society, and the MFA.
* Can produce: are motivated to work in a diverse team, show up on time, and are willing to work hard to get the job done.
* Have skills: writing, new media (graphic and web design), visual arts, athletics, etc.
* Can deliver: performance art, dance, theater, music, public speaking, visual communication
* Have something to say
