The South End/Lower Roxbury Youth Workers' Alliance (YWA) is vibrant grassroots network, building collaborations among youth programs and improving coordination and quality of services for inner-city and at-risk youth.

Our network is driven by the direct-service youth workers, people who spend time daily working with young people ages 6-21 in a wide variety of programs. Our network has two main goals: to improve services for youth and to provide a professional network for youth workers.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn about community-based non-profits from the inside while assisting with organizational growth, event planning, & community-building.

We are seeking a VISTA to:
-ADVOCATE for summer jobs for youth & more street outreach workers, and other issues of importance to youth
-Expand our YouthShines Art Auction- our major COMMUNITY-BUILDER & FUNDRAISER. This event features art from local children & teens, auctioned to local residents and art lovers
-Improve our WEBSITE & COMMUNICATIONS, with our members & with the local community
