It's that time of the year again when Summer programming is kicking off and the festivals are heating up the streets! So every year as some of you know, IBA (Inquilinos Boricuas En Accion) produces Festival Betances, an eventful weekend in South End's Villa Victoria Plaza (100 West Dedham St). There's live music, a parade, FOOD, vendors, a whole day dedicated to youth (saturday at the O'Day park), domino, basketball and volleyball tournaments, a Greased Pole event (my favorite) and much much more! This year IBA turned 40 so there's much to celebrate!The Festival is on July 18th-20th. The small number of staff at IBA need your help to pull off this wonderful event. I am writing to ask if you or anyone you know would be interested in volunteering a couple of hours, a day or the whole weekend. Any age and ability is welcomed! We do appreciate our volunteers and trust me when I say it's a fun volunteering experience! We will have a volunteer appreciation dinner as well. All volunteers will get a T-Shirt!!!
