Details

The Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination investigates and mediates discrimination complaints in employment, housing, public places, and other areas. Although the MCAD receives over 3000 cases every year, there are many unreported cases when individuals unknowingly experience discrimination because they are unaware of their rights. It is for this reason that an educational outreach program was established to educate people on their rights regarding discrimination.

The presentations typically last about 60 minutes in length and will cover different forms of discrimination as well as the specific protectorate groups covered by law. Clients are encouraged to participate and ask questions during the presentation. We have also developed a youth-specific agenda that more directly addresses the needs and interests of young adults who are just entering the work place.
