Living Root Dragon Boat, Inc., Boston’s premier dragon boat club, is looking for new partners and sponsors to help grow its dragon boat youth program. In 2007, Living Root Dragon Boat partnered with the Pathways to China program to train and race a team of 22 teenagers at the Boston Dragon Boat Festival. The team captured First Place in the Youth Division at the Boston Dragon Boat Festival. Our 2008 goal is to field 2 teams, totaling 44 teenagers, to race at the 2008 Boston Dragon Boat Festival with a long term vision to develop a year-round after school program for teenagers to teach leadership, teamwork and individual responsibility through the sport of dragon boat. We invite schools and after school programs to participate in this program. We also invite sponsors to help fund the $7,000 needed to register, equip, outfit and train these teams for racing.
