Seeking adult writers to speak at writing conference for teen girls!

Teen Voices is looking for female writers from any genre to speak at our annual Pens of Power Conference on August 2nd.

Teen Voices is looking for female writers from any genre to speak at our annual Pens of Power Conference on August 2nd. Whether you are a journalist, poet, play writer, fiction or non-fiction writer, we are interested in having you come share your talents at this exciting event. We are looking for energetic, charismatic and exciting presenters who can inspire and hold the attention of a teenage audience.
3 Different Ways to Present:

Workshop Presenter:
2007 Presenter: Sarah Rodman, Entertainment Critic and Art Reviewer for The Boston Globe

· Lead a one to two hour workshop on August 2nd for 25-30 girls
· Speak about your career as a writer and lead interactive, hands-on exercises
· Present an activity that will allow girls to leave with written work

Keynote Speaker
2007 Speaker: Kelly Tsai, Spoken Word Artist and Def Poet

· Address a group of 100 girls for 7 to 10 minutes
· Speak about your experiences in the field, why you love writing, and how you became passionate about it
· Be able to engage a teen audience in an interactive and fun way

Intergenerational Panelist
2007 Panalist: Carla Gualdron, Teen Writer

· 3 panelists are needed: a teen, a 20-30 year old, and a 40+ writer
· Speak for 5 minutes on the prompt, "Why I Write..."
· Share the impact writing has had on your life and encourage girls to pursue writing
